Warren Jake Reed

Warren Jake Reed, 83, of Springdale passed away Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. He was born Aug. 24, 1930, in Cave Springs, Ark., to Lester and Geneva Routh Reed. He was a farmer and and a member of First United Methodist Church of Elm Springs. He loved horse racing, fishing and hunting with friends and family. He was a loving grandfather who could always be counted on by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Wayne Reed. Warren leaves behind family and friends, including his wife, Betty Reed of the home; his son, Rick Reed with wife, Joyce, of Springdale; his daughter, Denise Downum with husband, Randy, of Sedalia, Mo.; one sister, Aleta Wright of Springdale; and six grandchildren, Corie Whorton, Travis Reed, Misty Allen, Jon Parker, Paige Downum, Whitney Downum; and nine great-grandchildren. A funeral service for Warren will be Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Elm Springs, with Pastor Dixon Platt officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Springs Cemetery. A visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Elm Springs. The family asks that memorial donations in Warren's memory be made to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, AR 72762.
