Hubert Ross Bookout

Hubert Ross Bookout, 90, of Fayetteville, Ark., passed away Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, in Fayetteville. He was born Feb. 23, 1923, in Fayetteville, Ark., to William Charles Bookout and Feriba Jane (Guess) Bookout. He retired after 57 years of working in the furniture-moving business. He worked for companies such as Red Ball, Admiral, Mayflower, United and North American. Many people knew him by his 1949 black Chevrolet pickup "Giddy Up Go" and he became a landmark at Lake Sequoyah fishing on his favorite dock. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one son, Glenn David Bookout. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Alice Bookout; one son, Richard Ross Bookout of Prairie Grove, Ark.; one daughter, Gayle Green of Fayetteville, Ark.; one sister, Lucille Bookout of Fayetteville, Ark.; six grandchildren, Cody Bookout, Ethan Bookout, Zatha Fairley, Brian Green, Kylie Bookout and Shannon Varner-Kuhn; four great-grandchildren, Kaityln Fairley, Tyler Fairley, Samantha Varner and Dylan Varner.
