Virgil Wesley Lassiter, age 82, of Fayetteville passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013, at the Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks at the Hero's Haven Hospice Care in Fayetteville. Virgil was born in Maud, Okla., on Sept. 7, 1930, to Virgil W. and Edna Lee (Skinner) Lassiter. He served his country in the United States Navy from 1949 to 1957 during the Korean conflict and received an honorable discharge. For the past 13 years, Virgil served as president and chairman of the board for the Alano Club in Fayetteville. Preceded in death by his parents, Virgil is survived by a multitude of loving friends. Celebration of Life services will be at 11 a.m. Sunday, March 17, 2013, at the Alano Club (568 W. Sycamore) in Fayetteville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alano Club (568 W. Sycamore, Fayetteville, AR 72703) or (479) 236-7870 in honor of Virgil Wesley Lassiter.
