Jacob Edward "Jake" Miller, 81, of Springdale, died Sunday, June 2, 2013, at his home. He was born Feb. 7, 1932, in Bayfield, Colo., to Jacob Holland and Florence Edna Landreth Miller. Jake served in the Army during the Korean War where he received the Purple Heart. He owned and operated Jake's Automotive in Springdale for many years and was a member of Cross Church. He married Geneva Wright on Sept. 3, 1959, in Springdale. He enjoyed time with his grandchildren and attending their activities. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Guy and Leroy Miller. He is survived by his wife, Geneva Miller of the home; three daughters, Kellie Ard and husband, Farrell, of Odessa, Texas, Kim Drummond and husband, Kirk, of Austin, Texas, and Kay Marie Miller of Springdale; two sisters, Olive Miller and Marie Lookingbill and husband, James, all of Springdale; and six grandchildren, Chelsee Ard, Blake Ard, Anthony Ard, Dayne Ard, Dylan Ard and Grant Drummond. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 7, at Cross Church in Springdale. Interment will be at Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Heritage Funeral Home; online guest book at heritageofnwa.com.
