Barbara Jean Pedersen

Barbara Jean Pedersen, age 67, of Dallas, Texas, passed away July 27, 2013. She was born Jan. 1, 1946, in Pueblo, Colo., to Milton John and Elizabeth Jane (Benden) Artley. On May 17, 1969, she married Laverne Pedersen in Vinton, La. She loved being a mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. Barbara spent 40 years volunteering at the church and helping special needs children. She was a strong Christian woman who spent her whole life helping others. Barbara was a member of Stonegate Baptist Church in Midland, Texas. She is survived by her husband, Laverne Pedersen of McKinney, Texas; daughters, Jennifer Little and husband, Richard, of McKinney, Texas, Lisa Pedersen of McKinney, Texas, and Kiss Hill and husband, Ben, of Troup, Texas; son, Jeff Hicks and wife, Dedra, of Jamestown, N.C.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; sister, Stephanie Sandlin and husband, Junior, of Bentonville, Ark., Pat Martin and husband, John, of Muskogee, Okla., Lynne Cleveland and husband, Tom Erwin, of Houston, Texas; and brother, Milt Artley of Rogers, Ark. She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Elizabeth Artley; and grandson, Benji Hill. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at Grace Harbor Church, 2125 W.
