Louise Whitfield Dunlap, 98 of Fayetteville, Ark., passed away Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, in Fayetteville. She was born Aug. 12, 1914, in Harris, Ark., to Paris Rhea "P.R." Green and Gladys Mae (Johnson) Green. Mama Lou, as she was known, was a homemaker, a graduate of University High, a Chi Omega at the University of Arkansas, a 50-year member of P.E.O. Sisterhood, a volunteer at the VA Hospital as a Grey Lady, and a very active member of First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and served on numerous committees. She was preceded in death by her first husband, W.C. Whitfield Jr.; her second husband, Errett Dunlap Jr.; and granddaughter, Linda LuAnn Jones. She is survived by two sons; William C. "Bill" Whitfield and wife, Ruth, of Lowell, Ark., Robert G. "Bob" Whitfield of Fayetteville, Ark.; one daughter, Anne W. Jones and husband, Gerald, of Fayetteville, Ark.; one stepson, Tom Dunlap and wife, Nancy, of Ardmore, Okla.; five grandchildren, Steve Jones and wife, Pam, of Fayetteville, Ark., Mike Jones and wife, Deanna, of Springdale, Ark., Cindy Martin of Fayetteville, Ark., Cheri Maier of Cincinnati, Ohio, Robert Whitfield II of Fayetteville, Ark, and 12 great-grandchildren, Dianna, David, Adam, Alexis, Travis, Josh, Tierison, Bianca, Ashlyn, Alanna, Ryan and Drew. Visitation will be held today, Jan. 28, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29, at First Baptist Church in Fayetteville with Dr. Andrew Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville.
