Opal Jeanettia Jones, 89, of Hot Springs died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, in Hot Springs. Born Dec. 18, 1923, in Logan County to Wallace and Harriet Cameron Duncan, she was a member of Lake Hamilton Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She and her husband, Paul, married young and created several successful businesses together, including Midwest National Life Insurance in Springfield, Mo., JoPau Enterprises Thoroughbred Racing, Jones and Company Home Builders in Hot Springs. Her feisty, fun-loving personality was magnetic and she always had a smile and kind word for anyone she met. She lived her life to the fullest and loved her family dearly. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Joseph "Paul" Jones Sr.; four brothers and three sisters. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Joseph Paul "Joe" and Vicki Jones Jr. of Hot Springs; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia Ann and Jack Todd of Springdale and Jeanettia and Bill Ables of Hot Springs; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews. The service will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Gross Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Duawn Mearns officiating. Pallbearers will be Jack Todd II, Jason Todd, Patrick Dolan, Joseph "Bo" Dolan, Paul Johnson and Buddy Jones. Honorary pallbearers are Mercy Hospital staff. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lake Hamilton Cumberland Presbyterian Church Building Fund, Senior Companion Program or charity of donor's choice.
