James David Pennington

James David Pennington, age 65, of Fayetteville, went home to be with the Lord, on Jan. 9, 2013. He was born Jan. 14, 1947, in Fayetteville, Ark., the son of Afton and Melba Brooks Pennington. He was pastor of Buckner Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, working crossword puzzles and studying his Bible. He loved his family and enjoyed being with his grandchildren. He was preceded by his father, Afton Pennington. Mr. Pennington is survived by his wife, Sharon Crippen Pennington of the home; his mother, Melba Pennington of Springdale; two sons, Mike Pennington and his wife, Tina of Rogers and Mark Pennington and his wife, Grandi of Springdale; one brother, Jerry Pennington and his wife, Judy of Paris, Ark.; one sister, Janet Tanner and her husband, Larry of Fullerton, Calif.; and five grandchildren, Abby Hollaway, Chrystal Hollaway, Kallie Pennington, Kaden Pennington and Kole Pennington. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Buckner Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Drake Creek Cemetery under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at the funeral home.
