Mary Nell Morris

Mary Nell Morris of Bella Vista, Ark., passed away on Feb. 22, 2013 (88 years old). She grew up in Wahoo, Neb. Mary Nell graduated from Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill., with a degree in music. Mary Nell is preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Morris. She is survived by three children, Nancy Morris of Bella Vista, Ark., William Morris, wife, Susan, and son, Carter, of Stuttgart, Germany, and Susan Ross and husband, Gene, of Houston, Texas. She is survived by her three sisters, Rachel Sutton of Wahoo, Neb., Joan Peterson of Urbana, Ill., and Patricia Stewart of Hebron, Neb. Mary Nell and Bob Morris were married June 18, 1948, and were together for 57 years. They lived in the mountains near Denver, Colo., for about 25 years and raised their children there. She was the organist at Rockland Community Church. During that time, the family spent two-and-a-half years in Porto Alegre, Brazil, while Bob taught geology at the university. Mary Nell and Bob moved to Herndon, Va., for five years before retiring to Williamsburg, Va., in 1983. They lived there for about 23 years. While there, Mary Nell volunteered at church, the hospital auxiliary, William and Mary Museum and the Ostomy Support Group. In 2006, Mary Nell moved to Arkansas and is a member of Bella Vista Community Church. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, at the Bella Vista Community Church, 75 E. Lancashire Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark., with Pastor Jeff Reed officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bella Vista Community Church (75 E.
