Irene Naida Chase

Irene Naida Chase, age 81, of Farmington and formerly of Abilene, Kan., passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, in Fayetteville. Irene was born in Abilene, Kans., on May 30, 1931, to Justice Harvey and Esther Alice (Thayer) Chase. Irene enjoyed nature and animals, hunting and collecting fossils. She was an avid reader and artist. Preceded in death by her parents; one son, Leon Ferry; one daughter-in-law, Claudia Ferry; and two brothers. Irene is survived by one son, Thomas Ferrara of Fayetteville; one daughter, Rhonda Schmidt and husband, Marty of Farmington; two sisters, Phyllis Lotgering of Mountain Home; Marjorie Miller of Colorado; and four grandchildren, Matthew, Kyle, Alex and Jennifer.
