John Phillip Chaplik

John Phillip Chaplik, 95, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center, Rogers, Ark. He was born on July 29, 1918, in Omaha, Neb., to Peter Z. Chaplik and Stella Helen (Granowski) Chaplik. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He moved to Bella Vista in 1979 from Minneapolis, Minn. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Hazel Chaplik, in October 2002; and one daughter, Janet Lechner in October 2012. He is survived by three sons, John Phillip Chaplik Jr. and wife, Barbara, of Grand Junction, Colo., James Chaplik of Marshalltown, Iowa, Joseph Chaplik of Edwardsville, Kan.; three daughters, Judy La Blanc of Omaha, Neb., Jennifer Moyers and husband, Mike, of Des Moines, Iowa, Jeaneene Boyer of Omaha, Neb.; one son-in-law, Darrel Lechner of La Vista, Neb.; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, at 10 a.m. with the visitation starting at 9:30 a.m. in the St. Bernard Catholic Church, #1 St. Bernard Lane, Bella Vista, AR 72715. Burial will be on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, at 10 a.m. in the Calvary Cemetery, Omaha, Neb. Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark.
