Ruth M. Kimball

Ruth M. Kimball, 90, of Afton, Okla., passed away peacefully at her home Friday, Aug. 2, 2013. She was born June 19, 1923, at Beloit, Wis., to Joseph Otto and Ester Ruther (Haehnen) Madlinger. She was reared and educated in Bloomington, Ill., and graduated with the Holy Trinity High School Class of 1941. She was married Oct. 8, 1942, in Bloomington, to Thomas Kimball. Ruth worked for Born Engineering, Giant Grocery and Kimball's Produce before retiring to Grand Lake. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes including making afghans, working puzzles, watching football and golf. She was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and was affectionately known as Nanny. She will be missed by all that knew her. Loving family members include: her children, Mary Parker and husband, Jerry, of Evergreen, Colo., Tom Kimball and wife, Susan, of Owasso, Okla., Bill Kimball and wife, Jana, of Afton, Okla.; four grandchildren, Jennifer Smaldone and husband, Chris, of Littleton, Colo., Jeff Parker of Tulsa, Kristi Leverenz and husband, Grant, of Owasso, Michelle Thompson and husband, Chris, of Springdale, Ark.; nine great-grandchildren, Jackson, Ashley, and Paisley Smaldone, Alexandrea and Temperance Parker, Nicholas and Sinclaire Leverenz, Macy and Brooklyn Thompson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom, Oct. 24, 1970; two brothers; and two sisters. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral Mass will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Owasso, with Father Matt LaChance officiating. Committal services and interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 2084 S. Main, Grove, OK, 74344.
