Willia "Bill" Parker, 97, of Wesley, Ark., died April 2, 2013, at Meadowview Healthcare and Rehab in Huntsville, Ark. She was born Aug. 13, 1915, at Aurora, Ark., the daughter of John and Louisa Jackson Peters. She was a retired school teacher with 40 years of service, including 16 years teaching third grade at Watson Primary School in Huntsville. She loved gardening and making photo albums of her school kids, her family and events that happened in Madison County. She was the widow of Mandred Vol Parker, whom she married on July 26, 1936, and who preceded her in death on March 26, 1988. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Lige Peters; two sisters, Zola Peters and Clara Dimmit; one brother-in-law, Harold Dimmit; and one grandson, Manny Parker. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Junior and Janie Parker of Wesley, Ark.; two grandsons, Terry Parker and Manuel Parker; two granddaughters, Sherry Parker and Mandy Parker; two great-granddaughters and one great-grandson-in-law, Candace Parker and Andrea and Bruce Carter; one great-great-grandson, Hunter Carter; one nephew and niece-in-law, Larry and Norma Raye Dimmit and their son, two daughters and their families. Funeral services will held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 5, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with Johnny Dockery, minister officiating. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home in Huntsville, Ark., www.brashearsfuneralhome.net. Pallbearers will be Dana Samples, Charles Glenn, Marlin Sanders, Ray Valadez, Abel Martinez and Bruce Carter. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Murphy and Gleason Lawson. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
