Fred L. Nebrig, 82, of Bella Vista passed away Easter Sunday, March 31, 2013, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. Fred was born in Decatur, Ala., on Sept. 4, 1930, to Fred Sr. and Gladys Nebrig. Fred was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Helen Milks and Betty Dean. Fred was raised in Wichita Falls, Texas, and graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1947, and received his bachelor of arts degree in industrial management from Texas Christian University in 1966. He retired from AT&T and was a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, with duties on the Bon Homme Richard CVA-31 and the USS Essex CVA-9. Fred was a lifetime member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, a member of the 9- and 18-Hole MGA and the United Methodist Men's Club. Fred is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sue; two sons, Dean Nebrig and wife, Linda, of Ballwin, Mo., Kenneth Nebrig and wife, Lorrie, of Prescott, Ariz.; one daughter, Marilyn Beckmann and husband, Jerry, of St. Louis, Mo.; his sister, Elizabeth Ann Podlipny of Sugar Lane, Texas: six grandchildren, Alex, Shelby, Hayley, Dan, Tom, James; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 6, at Bella Vista First United Methodist Church. The family will greet friends after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Circle of Life Hospice, Bella Vista Public Library or B.V. First United Methodist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory, 2258 Forrest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark.
