Mary Morey Wilson of Fayetteville, Ark., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sept. 17, 2012. She was born Sept. 29, 1940, in Ada, Okla., to Dr. John and Sue Morey, both of whom have preceded her in death. Mary is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, James "Jim" Wilson; her two daughters, Susan Baker of Fayetteville, and Sally Zahnen and husband, John, of Little Rock; a special niece, Niki Thompson and husband, Brock, of Little Rock; and four grandchildren, Colton and Ashlyn Baker, Will Fason and Jake Zahnen. Mary is also survived by her brother, John Morey and wife, Mary Ann; sisters, Sue Anderson, and Sally Mielke and husband, John; and 16 nieces and nephews. Mary graduated from Ada High School and during her senior year was a cheerleader and selected All Around Girl. She continued her education at Oklahoma State University, where she pledged Kappa Alpha Theta and graduated with a bachelor of business administration. Mary and her family were avid University of Oklahoma football fans, and she could be counted on to sing "Boomer Sooner" at the drop of a hat. Mary loved people and never met a stranger! This was reflected in the activities, organizations and volunteerism in which she invested throughout her life. She was a member and past-president of PEO, Chapter BH, and an active volunteer of Faith in Action for a number of years, where she was awarded their volunteer of the year for 2009. Mary was a beloved and involved member of the Asbury Sunday school class at Central United Methodist Church. She organized the class cares and concerns ministry in a dedicated and loving manner. A memorial service celebrating Mary's life will be held at Central United Methodist Church on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, at 2 p.m. followed by a reception at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Faith in Action, 12 E. Appleby Road, Fayetteville, AR 72703; Willard Walker Hospice Home, 325 E. Longview Drive, Fayetteville, AR 72703; or Central United Methodist Church, 6 W. Dickson St., Fayetteville, AR 72701. To sign the online guest book, please visit www.nelsonberna.com.
