Daniel Herbert "Danny" Lamp, 63, of Bentonville, Ark., lover of cars, cows and most especially his family, passed way Sept. 9, 2012, after a long battle with heart disease. Danny always had a story (long-winded) to tell and a hard-working fun-spirited nature. His younger years were full of fixing cars and hot-rodding. He owned Lamp's Garage in Bentonville, Ark. In his older years, he became a cattleman — he so enjoyed raising cows. Through all the years his constant in life remained his loving wife, Shirley, and their three sons, Dustin, Shad and Lonnie. He was a member of the Church of Christ since his teens. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, EF, Class 1968-1972, and served in Minot, N.D., Agana, Guam and Plattsburgh, N.Y. Danny was preceded in death and reunited in Heaven with his mother, Evelyn Anne Perdew Lamp; infant grandson, Braeden Lewis Lamp; and, mother-in-law, Lillian Valree Thomas. Danny is also survived by his loving family: his father, Carl Lamp and stepmother, Judy; daughter-in-law, Margaret; grandchildren, Logan, Lexi, Ethan and Eli Lamp; three brothers, Randy (wife Beverly), Terry (wife Jill), and Rick (wife Betty); two sisters, Debra and Laura (husband Bill); along with many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services of Rogers, Ark. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at the Church of Christ in Bentonville, Ark., with Minister J.L. May and Minister William Spurlock officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, at the Fayetteville National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark., with full military honors. Memorials may be made to the Bentonville Church of Christ, 904 NW Walton St., Bentonville, AR 72712. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services of Rogers.
