Thomas Charles Meyer

Thomas Charles Meyer, 74, of Bella Vista, Ark., was called home on Sept. 6, 2012. He was born in St. Louis, Mo., on July 29, 1938, and grew up in Dallas, Texas. He attended Jesuit High School and graduated from Arlington State College. Most memorable of his college career was being part of the Sam Houston Rifles, a crack-performance rifle team. He and his wife, Jeri, married on Sept. 6, 1958, and had children, Lianna and Adam. Tom's lifelong career as a federal computer analyst with the USDA took them to Kansas City and Washington, D.C., where he also enjoyed being "Chief Silver Knife" for his daughter's Indian Princesses group and the first Band Booster president for Woodbridge High School, Va. Upon retirement they moved to South Carolina, where Tom took his passion for golf to a new level as a marshal for the LPGA Tour, which he continued to do after his move to Arkansas. When they moved to Bella Vista, Tom was active in the Knights of Columbus and his volunteer role at Northwest Medical Center. He is survived by his loving family, his wife of 54 years, Jeri; children, Lianna and Adam; three grandchildren, Adam and Sami LaLiberte and Iris Meyer; sister, Kathy Kidd; two brothers, Mike and Larry; nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends who will cherish him always. A Rosary will be at 10:30 a.m. with Mass of the Resurrection at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, at St. Bernard Catholic Church. Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made to the National Parkinson's Association. On-line condolences may be made at www.funeralmation.com.
