Nadine Mae McKinney

Nadine Mae King McKinney, 98, passed away on Oct. 23, 2012, at her home in Springdale. Born on Oct. 24, 1913, in Springtown, she was the daughter of Elbert Carruth King and Nancy Mae Holland King. She graduated from Siloam Springs High School in 1931. Nadine married Mearl Robert McKinney in Siloam Springs at the First United Methodist Church on Sept. 18, 1938. They joined Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville on Sept. 25, 1938, and remained active members there for most of their lives. At Central, Nadine participated in the choir, the women's ministry and the altar guild. She was also active in the Fayetteville community as a volunteer with the Charity League, the Girl Scouts and was a member of PEO. Her husband, Mearl, preceded her in death. She is survived by a son, M. Robert McKinney Jr. of Claremore, Okla.; a daughter, Martha Nan Medley and husband, Larry J. Medley, of Gainesville, Va.; and five grandchildren, Melissa and Megan Medley, and Powell, Todd and Sam McKinney. A family memorial service will be held Monday, Oct. 29, at 10 a.m. at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, with the Rev. Gary Lunsford officiating. Graveside services to follow.
