Larry M. Hughes

Larry M. Hughes, 67, of Bentonville, Ark., passed away Oct. 24, 2012, at Regency Hospital of Springdale. He was born Jan. 18, 1945, in Benton, Ark., to Eric and Mary Bragg Hughes. After graduating from high school, Larry went into the police academy. He was a proud police officer for the town of Benton, Ark., and then later for the city of Berryville. He retired from his position as a police officer at NWACC after 12 years of service. Larry was an avid reader, fisherman and hunter. He was a member at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Bentonville. He was preceded in death by his son, Larry M. Hughes Jr.; his parents; and one brother, Charles "Whitey" Hughes. He is survived by his wife of the home, Judy Gerlick Hughes of Bentonville, Ark.; a daughter, Dawn Michelle Hughes Kaiser and husband, Larry, of Bentonville, Ark.; a brother, Don Hughes and his wife, Margie, of Benton, Ark.; one grandson, James Logan Hughes McAlister of Rogers, Ark.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
