Lena Ruth Austin

Lena Ruth Austin, 95, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Oct. 19, 2012, at Concordia Care Center. She was born Oct. 10, 1917, in Mercer, Mo., to Virgil Shroyer and Jessie (Toot) Shroyer. She moved to Bella Vista in 1975 from Long Beach, Calif., where she was an active member of the Children's Benefit League. She was a member of the Bella Vista Community Church. She loved to play cards and was an excellent bridge player. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Merrill; her parents; and one daughter, Sharon Louise. She is survived by one son, Alan Austin of Ventura, Calif.; one daughter, Gloria Clarke (John) of Bella Vista, Ark.; one sister, Marie Haas of Mercer, Mo.; cousin, Irene Johnson of Santa Anna, Calif.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A graveside service will at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, at the Bella Vista Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark.
