Emma Bell Bartholomew

Emma Bell Bartholomew, 93, a resident of Prairie Grove, went to be with her Lord on May 24, 2012, at her home. She was born Aug. 15, 1918, in Hogeye, the daughter of Joseph White and Maude Mae Cate Carney. She was a member of the Prairie Grove United Methodist Church. She taught school at the New Sulphur School. She was a member of the Ruth Circle, Prairie Grove Women's Club, United Methodist Women and a Boy Scout Troop Leader. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Her greatest joy was being with her family. She loved them more than anything. She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Argil Bartholomew in 2011; two sisters, Grace Stone and Ruby McNair. Survivors include one daughter, Phyllis Orr and her husband, Burl; two sons, Billy Joe Bartholomew and his wife, Willene, and Dwight Bartholomew and his wife, Sandy, all of Prairie Grove; 10 grandchildren, Cary Bartholomew and his wife, Kori, Steve Bartholomew and his wife, Mary, Mitch Bartholomew and his wife, Mandy, Nikki Eldridge, Clint Bartholomew, Vanessa Orr, Bart Orr and his wife, Tara, Courtnie Bartholomew, Zach Davis and his wife, Ashley, and Kaylie Bartholomew; 20 great-grandchildren, Dustin Bartholomew and his wife, Brandy, Dara Fernandes and her husband, Tim, Dallas Bartholomew, Colt Bartholomew and his wife, Natalie, Brea Bartholomew, Tyler Eldridge, Whitley Eldridge, Hannah Eldridge, Sydney Bartholomew, Weston Bartholomew, Grant Bartholomew, Tiffany Bartholomew, Reed Orr, Camree Bartholomew, Ryder Orr, Rayleigh Bartholomew, Madeline Bartholomew, Morgan Bartholomew, Race Orr and Anna Kate Davis; four great-great-grandchildren, K'Leb Diaz, Addison Diaz, Brody Bartholomew and Ruby Fernandes; two nephews, Ronnie Stone and his wife, Barbara, of Rogers and Donnie Stone and his wife, Carol, of Fayetteville; numerous nieces, cousins and friends. Funeral service will be held today, May 26, 2012, at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Prairie Grove. Burial will be in the Prairie Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Stained Glass Fund, 1401 East Parks St., Prairie Grove, AR 72753.
