Melvin C. Baker Jr.

Melvin (Mel) C. Baker Jr., 48, of Rogers passed away on June 8, 2012, at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Mo., due to heart complications. He was born Jan. 16, 1964, in Chula Vista, Calif., to Melvin C. Baker Sr. and Margaret Baker. Mel is survived by his sisters, Anne Baker, Marcella Sonnenberg (Rick), Melinda Vaughn (David) and Melissa Fair (Michael), all of Rogers; nine nephews and nieces; and many family and friends that will greatly miss him. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and a nephew. Mel graduated from Rogers High School 1982 and went on to get a degree in counseling. Mel had a heart for helping others, was known for being ready to listen or give advice when he saw a need. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 23, at 1 p.m. at Charity Baptist Church, 2901 West Olive St., Rogers, Ark. A time of remembrance will be shared during the memorial service.
