Billie Jean Dart, age 81, of Cassville, Mo., passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012, in her home. She was born Nov. 28, 1930, in Washburn, Mo., the daughter of Hazel (Anderson) Bishop and Guy P. Church. On Aug. 5, 1956, she was united in marriage to Bernard Gordon Dart, who preceded her in death on June 25, 2010. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Hazel and Jack Bishop; and her father, Guy P. Church. Surviving are three daughters, Kathy Weathers and her husband, Johnny, of Washburn, Mo., Linda McBride and her husband, Jerry, of Cassville, Mo., and Janet Ballard and her husband, Roger, of Cassville, Mo.; two brothers, Wendell Bishop and his wife, Jan, of Seligman, Mo., and Russell Bishop and his wife, Eleanor, of Seligman, Mo.; two sisters, Jackie Dart and her husband, Gaylord, of Garfield, Ark., and Patsy Richardville and her husband, Gary, of Tulsa, Okla.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Billie grew up and received her education at Washburn, graduating with the Class of 1948. She was a licensed beautician, but most of her life was spent raising her family, raising chickens and helping her husband with their cattle. One of her favorite pastimes was making quilts. She also loved music, attending music parties on the weekends. She was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church at Washburn. Funeral services will be held at noon today, June 20, 2012, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Ronnie Black and Pastor Russell Bishop will conduct the services. Burial will be in Corinth Cemetery, Cassville. Contributions may be made to Hospice Compassus or Washburn United Methodist Church in memory of Billie.
