Jetty Pay

Jetty Pay, age 57, a resident of Springdale, and formerly of Wesson Farms at Victoria Station, Ark., passed away Saturday, July 21, 2012, at the Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville. Jetty was born on Sept. 3, 1954, to Johnny and Ruby (Woods) Pay. Jetty was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Springdale and she worked as a nurse in the Outpatient Mental Health Clinic at the Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks in Fayetteville. She was a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of nursing and the Mental Coalition of America. Jetty was a second generation graduate of the University of Arkansas and a member of the Arkansas Alumni Association. Jetty was formerly a teacher at Fayetteville High School as an assistant girls' basketball coach, as well as coach of other sports. Jetty enjoyed Razorback sports, gardening, the outdoors, the lake, sitting at the beach and, above all else, Jetty truly loved taking care of other people. She will be greatly missed. Preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Danny Pay; Jetty is survived by one brother, Thomas Pay and his wife, Linda, of St. Louis, Mo.; one niece, Laura Ermine and husband, Mark, of Georgia; two nephews, Chris Pay of South Carolina and Matt Pay of Missouri; her chosen family members, Chuck and Jean Pharr of Springdale, and Camille Pharr of Brooklyn, N.Y., Alexis, Marcus and Walker Necessary, all of Bentonville, Linda Salley of the home in Springdale, Sandra Franklin of Springdale, Nancy Hodges of Springdale, Mary Jo and Mark Sisson and their daughter, Alaina, of Fayetteville; numerous other relatives and friends. There will be a Celebration of Life gathering at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org, or to the charity of choice in honor of Jetty Pay.
