Carolyn Gail Kirk, 14, of Bentonville, Ark., passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at Children's Hospital in Little Rock. She was born June 27, 1998, in Rogers, Ark. She had just completed the eighth grade at Washington Junior High. She was passionate about music; was a member of the choir and played the violin in the orchestra. She also ran cross-country. She was looking forward to attending Bentonville High School in the fall. Having Carolyn for even one year was wonderful, but having her for 14 years was like winning the lottery. She was the sunbeam and joy of all our lives. Her smile was contagious; she was beautiful, funny, witty, smart and compassionate; the apple of her father's eye. Carolyn walked in such love, acceptance and forgiveness of others. She had the innocent heart of a child, but somehow had the wisdom of an adult. "You will always be our curly-headed baby girl and we will love you to the moon and back … " Carolyn is survived by her father, Hunter Kirk and wife, Jenny, of the home; mother, Wanda Parr of Fayetteville, Ark.; grandmother, Bonnie Gabbard of Bentonville, Ark.; grandfather, Thomas Kirk of Eureka Springs, Ark.; aunt, Mary Kirk of Bentonville, Ark.; cousin, Thomas Heffron of Fort Worth, Texas; grandparents, James and Sharen Clifford of Battle Lake, Minn.; aunt, Sara Randolph and family of Sturgis, Mich.; uncle, Matt Clifford and family of Van Buren, Ark.; great-uncle, Gary Brewer and wife, Jan, of Suffolk, Va.; great-uncle, Danny Brewer of Bentonville, Ark.; great-grandparents, Red and Ina Parr, Bella Vista, Ark.; and many, many friends. A celebration of Carolyn's life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 14, 2012, at The Haven Family Church, 3201 N.E. 11th St., Bentonville, with Chris Quinn officiating. Memorials may be made in honor of Carolyn Kirk to the Jason Foundation, 18 Volunteer Drive, Hendersonville, TN 37075; or Arkansas Children's Hospital, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Children's Way, Little Rock, AR 72204; or any ARVEST Bank, c/o of Hunter Kirk. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services of Rogers. Online condolences may be made at stockdalefuneral.com.
