Martha Ann Hixson

Martha Ann Hixson, 79, of Pine Bluff, died Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. She was born May 11, 1933 in Conway, daughter of Oliver and Eura Brown Coleman. Mrs. Hixson was reared and received her early education in Conway, graduating from Conway High School. Martha Coleman married Robert Hixson, Sr. July 1, 1951 in Conway. After moving to Pine Bluff, they co-founded Hixson Lumber Sales in 1959 and Hixson Farms in 1979. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Pine Bluff. Mrs. Hixson was preceded in death by her husband and parents. Survivors include two sons, Robert Louis Hixson Jr. and Walter Allen Hixson, both of Dallas, Texas; and two grandchildren, Haley Ann Hixson Fought of Conway and Walter Allen Hixson Jr. of Fayetteville. A memorial visitation will be Monday evening from 5-7 p.m. At Robinson's. A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Lance Clemmons officiating. A reception will follow the service at the church.
