James Henry Moore

James Henry "Jim" Moore, 74, of Fayetteville died Thursday, June 28, 2012, in Fayetteville. He was born Oct. 8, 1937, in Cardon Bottom, Ark., the son of Leon Moore and Louise Romine Moore Rone. He married the former Betty Ashmore in Russellville, Ark., in 1957. He was employed by Arkansas Western Gas for 38 years before retiring in 1998. He also retired from the Fayetteville Fire Department in January 1986 after 20 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the NRA and was a member of the Jackson Nob Deer Club. He was an outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He served in the Arkansas National Guard for eight years. He and his wife, Betty are known for the many friends they have. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Betty Moore of the home; mother, Louise Rone of Independence, Mo.; sister, Evon Smith of Independence, Mo.; two grandchildren, Sydney Blair and Mason Garrett McConnell; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be 2 p.m., Monday, July 2, 2012, at Moore's Chapel. Burial will be private. No visitation is scheduled.
