Don R. Gibson

Don R. Gibson, 73 of Fayetteville passed away Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012 in Fayetteville. He was born July 1, 1938, in Baldwin the son of George and Oved Smith Gibson. He was a lifelong Basket Maker, member of College Avenue Baptist Church. Preceded in death by his parents, son, Timothy Gibson, grandson, Hayden Gibson, great-grandson, Chandler Gibson, two brothers, Harvey and Howard Gibson, three sisters, Juanita Nakai, Thelma Turner, and Virginia Gibson. Survivors include his wife, Ann Gibson to whom he married in 1958; two sons, Terry Gibson and wife, Bonnie of Fayetteville, Joey Gibson and wife, Mellisa of Rogers; one brother, Earl Gibson of Elkins; two granddaughters; one grandson; two stepgrandsons; two great-grandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Beard's Funeral Chapel with David Dotson officiating. Burial will be in Sonora Cemetery.
