Syble Lucille Leavell

Syble Lucille Leavell, 87, of Clarksville died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, at the Johnson Regional Medical Center in Clarksville. Born Tuesday, June 3, 1924, in Lamar, Ark., to Charley W. and Jessie (Berry) Burgess, she was a faithful member and worker with the Ladies Association of The First Assembly of God Church, Clarksville and a homemaker. She loved working in her flowers, crocheting and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Gerald Leon Leavell; three daughters: Brenda Kendrick, Springdale, Ark., Debbie (Jimmy) Wyers, Ozark, Ark., and Peggy (Robert) Williams, Clarksville, Ark.; six grandchildren: Lori (Marty) Hannon, Paula (Dwain) Ober, Amber (Jason) Faughn, Amy (Toby) Willems, Jaime (Brad) Ellison and Brian Williams; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Marcella Turner, Seal Beach, Calif., and Gelletta Crutchfield, Lamar, Ark. She is preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Robert Leavell; and brother, Bud Burgess. Pallbearers will be Dillon Burgess, Wesley Kendrick, Tray Hargraves, Calvin Warren, Levi Willis and Alan Thacker. Honorary pallbearers will be Jane Burgess, Dr. Sarah Woodruff, Allen Pitts and the First Assembly Adult Sunday School Class. Visitation will be Sunday 2-4 p.m. at Roller-Cox Funeral Home. The Rev. Dade Kindrix and the Rev. Larry Horn will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home, Clarksville, Ark. Burial will be in Annie's Chapel Cemetery, Hagarville, Ark. Services are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
