Frank Joseph Brunner Jr., 79, of Jonesboro, formerly of Marked Tree, passed away early Sunday morning, Feb. 12, 2012 at the NEA Baptist Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Harry Hill Sunday School Class. Frank was a 50 year member of the Arkansas Pharmacy Association. He served on the Marked Tree School Board for 20 years with the last years being the school board president. Frank also served on the board of the Marked Tree Bank. Frank graduated from UAMS School of Pharmacy in June 1955 and began working in the family business, John and Frank Inc. In 1990 he became the sole owner of John and Frank Pharmacy until his retirement in 2001. He loved his career, mostly due to his relationship with his customers and his community. He continued to work as a pharmacist in the Greer's Ferry Lake area and volunteered at the Christian Health Center in Heber Springs, Ark. Frank was preceded in death by: his father Frank Joseph Brunner Sr. and mother, Hadassah Brunner; sister, Ann Neel and husband Bob Neel. Survivors include: his wife of 56 years, Carla Brunner; sons, Philip Gardner Brunner of Jonesboro; Stewart Louis Brunner of Mountain Home, Ark.; daughter, Elizabeth Brunner Morrison and husband Thad of Van Buren, Ark.; six grandchildren: Brittany Milligan and husband Kenny of Jonesboro, Eric Joseph Brunner of Columbia, Mo., Michael, Mary, Hattie and Zoe Morrison of Van Buren; four great grandchildren, Madison, Maizy, Marleigh, Mackay; brother-in-law, Chuck Gardner and wife Betty of Little Rock; special cousins, Sister Henrietta Hockle, Greg Thielemier and his wife Becky, all of Jonesboro; Gene Brunner and wife Coletta of Pocahontas; Wilma Wren; Bob Thielemier and wife, Mary all of Engleberg, Ark. and Pat Thielemier of Pocahontas, Ark.; four nephews and one niece. A memorial service will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. John Miles officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time. A graveside memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012 at the Marked Tree Cemetery.
