Roy Odell Pense, 85, of Winfrey Valley, Ark., passed away on Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, in Fayetteville, Ark. He was a retired farmer and cattle rancher, a lifelong resident of the Winfrey Valley, a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Naples, Italy, in World War II and a member of the Winfrey Valley Tabernacle Church. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Rhonda and Starla Pense; and one son, Roger Odell Pense. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Sarah Ellen Pense of the home; two sons, Roy Pense and wife, Valerie, Mark Pense and wife, Shalane, all of Winfrey Valley; one sister, Marine (Penny) Rutherford of Fayetteville, Ark.; five grandchildren, Joshua Pense and wife, Jennifer, Bradley Pense, Caleb (Ben) Pense, Cody Pense and wife, Renee, and Kayla Pense; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at Ocker Funeral Home of Alma, with interment in Bidville Cemetery with military honors. The family will visit with friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at the funeral home, 917 Hwy. 64 East, Alma, Ark. Pallbearers will be Gary Boen, Alan Sims, Gerald Provence, Brian Drummond, Tim Robison and John W. Pense. Honorary pallbearers will be Randall Shepherd, Lonnie Jennings, Vergil Anglin, Ervin Boen, Lee Hannah, Harold Sims, Paul Furr, Don Rutherford and Doug Nash.
