Ernest Wilfred May, "Papaw" went to Heaven to join his Lord and precious doll, Juanita, who graciously went before him to welcome him home as she always did for 60 years of their made-in-Heaven marriage. He proudly served our country for 27 years and in three wars. He hit the beaches of Normandy, and did a full tour of Korea and manned the Missile Batteries protecting South Korea and Japan. The Army then brought him to the Florida coast to protect it by Missile Battery during the Cuban conflict and the Vietnam era. He retired in 1969 and moved to Louisiana to be close to his family. In 1993, he followed his children to Northwest Arkansas and helped raise his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved his Lord and ran the sound system at Claiborne Church of God for years. He was a godly man and lived the quote by Virgil, "Love conquers all." He loved everyone and everyone loved him. We will regard him always as the rock and hero of our family. Our Pap was the kindest and most gentle man with patience and humility. He loved and lived for his family and could not do enough for them. We love you, Pap, see you soon. Ernest Wilfred May and Juanita were survived by their children, Ernie May, and Rhonda Schossow and her husband, Kenneth Schossow. His grandchildren are Jessica May Foltz, Rebekah May and Daniel Schossow. His great-grandchildren are Haleigh May, Trinity May and Madee May. He left to be with his Lord and his love at age 89 on July 29, 2012, at his home in Rogers, Ark., at his family's side. Burial was at National Cemetery in Fayetteville with full military honors. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services in Rogers. Online condolences may be made at stockdalefuneral.com.
