Sylvia Camille Holiman, 78 years old, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2012. She is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, James Russell Holiman. Her greatest joy was her four girls and eight grandchildren. She loved being with family and friends, negotiating a sale (or purchase), antiquing, gardening, and cooking. She was known for her award-winning jellies and always took top honors in the Howard County Fair. Sylvia was born on December 30, 1933, in Haynes, Arkansas, and graduated from Forrest City High School in 1952. She was named Agriculture Beauty Queen while she attended Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas. After Russell's death, Sylvia called Nashville, Arkansas, her home, building lifelong friendships and taking care of those around her. Sylvia is preceded in death by her parents, Sydney Young May and Wyona Curtis May; her sisters, Sarah Owens and Mildred Huddleston; and her brother, Sydney Young May Jr. Sylvia is survived by her four girls: Cindy Bailey of Heber Springs, Arkansas; Kay Cook (Chuck) of Little Rock, Arkansas; Vanessa Keaster (Bobby) of Nashville, Arkansas; and Sylvia Sue Holiman of Arkadelphia, Arkansas. She is also survived by her two brothers: Auby May of Haynes, Arkansas, and Wayne May of Forrest City, Arkansas. She is survived by her eight grandchildren: Kori Renee' Harper; Collins and Camille Cook; Lindsey and Austin (Jessica) Keaster; Erin Clark, Trey and Nathan Surles. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. A graveside service will be held at Poe Cemetery in Sheridan, Arkansas, on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 11 a.m., officiated by Dr. David Blase'. Sylvia's family would like to express their sincere gratitude to her "Dream Team": Dr.Joseph Beck and his staff, Dr. Johnny Jones, Dr .Dean Kumpuris, Dr.Drew Kumpuris, and the nurses and staff of St. Vincent Infirmary's Infusion Center, MICU, and 7th floor Oncology.
