Jacob J. Carlile

Jacob J. Carlile, 83, of Bentonville, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2012. He was born July 5, 1928, in Cheney, Kan., to the late Jacob P. and Fanny (Wright) Carlile. Jacob was a veteran, serving his country in the Army in the early 1950s. After the Army, he became a baker, working at Harris Bakery in Bentonville for over 25 years. Jacob was also a member of the VFW and volunteered for the VA Hospital, logging over 4,000 hours as a van driver. Jacob was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and four sisters. Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Vivianna Carlile of the home; one son, Dennis J. Carlile and his wife, Joyce, of Broken Arrow, Okla.; two daughters, Sharon Davis and husband, Sid, of Brashear, Texas, and Betty Ott and husband, Benjamin, of Bentonville; two sisters, Ramona Kaylor of Cheney, Kan., and Mary Varbel of Wichita, Kan.; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great- grandchildren. A memorial service for Jacob will be 5 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2012, at the Bentonville 7th Day Adventist Church. His ashes will be interred in the National Cemetery in Fayetteville in a private family ceremony. Online condolences can be made at www.rollinsfuneral.com.
