Joye L. Carnes

Joye L. Carnes, 81, died March 23, 2012, in Tarkio, Mo. She was born July 20, 1930, in Clifty to Sam and Luttie (Graham) Jones. She graduated high school in Huntsville in 1949. On April 3, 1953, Joye married Herbert Carnes in Lincoln, Neb. They made their home in Raymond, Neb., where Joye worked for the Elgin Watch Company. In 1966, they moved to Westboro, Mo. Joye drove a school bus for the Westboro and Tarkio school districts. Joye was a true "farmer's wife." She enjoyed driving trucks and tractors. She especially enjoyed spending time with her four grandchildren. Joye was a member of the Merrill Smith American Legion Auxiliary. Besides her parents, Joye was preceded in death by four brothers, Fred, Harvey, Eugene and William Jones; and two sisters, Marlin Hadley and Velma Phillips. Survivors include husband; daughter, Sonia Willers and husband, Jon, of Shenandoah, Iowa; grandchildren, Jordan Hoefing and husband, Jon, Taylor and fiance, Gabe Sevenson, Cord R., and Madison; two sisters, Wanetta Puryear and husband, Kenneth, of Springdale, and Barbara Shipp of Huntsville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Interment at Walden Grove Cemetery, Westboro, Mo. Services under Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
