John Herman Richardson

John Herman Richardson, age 91, of Rogers, died March 29, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers. He was born in Abilene, Kan., on July 4, 1920, to the late Arthur E. and Josephine Mae (Weber) Richardson. John served his country in Europe during World War II. He married Doris Marie Mitchell in 1943 and continued to serve the Veterans Administration as Superintendant of numerous National Cemeteries. He was an avid fisherman and an active member of the Southside Church of Christ. Survivors include his children, John David Richardson and wife Dee of Merced, Calif., Susan Leuthold and husband Steve of Bar Nunn, Wyo., Robin Watkins of Rogers; grandchildren, Wesley Richardson, John Richardson, Aaron Smith, Rachel Smith; stepgrandchildren, Desiree Lewis, Benjamin Watkins, Stephanie Grimes, Elizabeth Arredondo; great-grandchildren, Neveah Martinez, Marcus Smith, Tristen Richardson Cemaia Richardson; and six stepgreat-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris; and son-in-law Michael Watkins. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 2, 2012, at Rollins Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Southside Church of Christ, officiated by Jackie Chesnutt. Burial will follow in Benton County Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers.
