Michael L Vernon

Michael "Mike" L. Vernon, age 55, of Little Rock, passed away Monday, June 6, 2011. He was born in Ft. Smith on May 15, 1956 to the late Richard and Chieko (Sugioko) Vernon. He was a graduate of both Northside High School and the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and was of Catholic faith. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid Razorback fan. Mike was a master of custom framing and artwork. He was owner and operator of BK Moulding Supply in Little Rock. Mike set high standards for his attention to detail. His clients ranged from corporations, hospitals, decorators, and universities. He never turned down the most challenging hanging or framing projects. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Kenneth Vernon. He is survived by two sisters, Mary Bennett and husband, Dana of Little Rock and Joyce Vernon of Ft. Smith; sister-in-law, Leigh Vernon of Conway; brother, Danny Vernon of Little Rock; four nephews, Charles Buddy Vernon, Blake Vernon, Brian Vernon, and Brooks Bennett; four nieces, Kimi Vernon, Sierra Moses, Sidney Bennett, and Amanda Vernon; special friends, Dr. Ward Clemmons and wife, Anne Marie of Ft. Smith and their children, Mike's Godchildren, Sebastian & Christian and A.C & Kimberly Brown & children, Alexis, Elliott, & A.C. Jr.; his major support team at BK Moulding, Janet Donnangelo, Jeff Hill, Alan Hipps, Paul Callwell, Bobby Blunt, and Greg Stecks, and many other relatives and friends in both Arkansas and Japan. The family will receive friends at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home (501-224-8300) from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Friday, June 10, 2011. A celebration of life will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 11, 2011 at the funeral home. A private memorial service will be held in Ft. Smith. Mike exhibited an unspoken generosity for charities, customers, and any others in need. He is loved by many and will be missed by countless family and friends.
