JOHNSON -- Firefighters doused flames Monday at the home of the newly named president of Tyson Foods.

The call came in about 10:45 a.m., according to Dale Riggins, senior administrative assistant with the Fayetteville Fire Department. The home is at 5137 Turnhouse Circle in a subdivision south of Blessings Golf Club, near the Fayetteville city limits.

Firefighters could see flames and heavy smoke coming from the second floor and attic of the home when they arrived, Riggins said. Occupants and pets inside the home got out safely, he said.

Noel W. and Patricia A. White bought the home in 2014, according to Washington County property records. The home was placed in a trust in Patricia A. White's name in 2015. The Whites are listed as co-trustees of the trust.

Tyson announced Monday morning Noel White would be its new president and CEO effective Sept. 30. He previously served as group president of Beef, Pork and International and a member of Tyson Foods' enterprise leadership team.

Firefighters searched for hidden flames and stayed until about 12:30 p.m., Assistant Fire Chief Thomas Good said. The house is about 7,000 square feet and was built in 2005, records show.

Good estimated 30 percent of the home was lost to fire, smoke and water damage. Firefighters had to chop through walls and floors in order to make sure no flames lingered, he said.

A fire marshal with the Washington County Sheriff's Office will investigate the cause. Fayetteville assisted Johnson's Fire Department.
