FAYETTEVILLE -- A Rogers man was found guilty Wednesday evening of robbing a Fayetteville couple at gunpoint last year.
Lentonio Marcell Jenner, 26, was found guilty of aggravated residential burglary, two counts of kidnapping, aggravated robbery, battery and two counts of terroristic threatening. There's also a sentencing enhancement for using a firearm.
The jury will convene this morning for sentencing.
Fayetteville police say Jenner walked up to Jerry and Glenda Moore's house on River Meadows Drive, off Huntsville Road, on Oct. 13, 2017, where he took out a gun and threatened the couple. He forced them to get in their vehicle to drive him to their bank for money, according to a police report.
Jerry Moore had a gun inside his Ford Explorer and shot Jenner in the leg. Jenner and Moore fought until Jenner was pushed out of the vehicle near Huntsville Road and River Meadows Drive, police said.
"Well, he'd told me three times he'd shoot me, you gotta take somebody's word for it when they do that," Jerry Moore told jurors.
Jenner was bleeding and laying in the road near the bridge over the West Fork of the White River when police found him.
"I didn't think we were going to survive it, really," the 70-year-old, retired Jerry Moore told jurors Wednesday. "It's a nightmare."
During the struggle in the car, Jenner bit Jerry Moore numerous times on the arms and tried to take the gun from him, according to testimony.
"He was trying to get me to let go of the gun. I wasn't gonna do it," Jerry Moore said. "We just fought. We literally were at hand-to-hand combat for about 30 seconds. Honestly, it seemed like 10 hours."
The couple didn't know Jenner, police said.
Police found three guns and shell casings during their investigation, according to the report. Two of the guns belonged to Jerry Moore while the third was found in Jenner's pants pocket.
Jenner still faces an unrelated bank robbery charge.
Police say Jenner and another man walked into the Arvest Bank at 1113 Garland Ave. on Jan. 3, 2017, brandished guns, demanded money and fled with $13,615. Police have said the pair are among four people who robbed the bank.
