BENTONVILLE -- The Benton County Administration Building has upgraded its security after the Quorum Court approved $60,000 for a lobby remodel earlier this year, according to a news release.

The lobby has a metal detector and a bag check for people entering the building, according to the release. The work was done in response to a security assessment.

"As the deadline to pay taxes on Oct. 15th approaches and early voting begins in late October, Benton County wanted to alert folks of the new steps they will have to go through when entering the administration building. There is now an additional entrance door and an exit to the building, unlike the previous set up," the release states.
