Kinion has experience needed at the Capitol

Mark Kinion knows Arkansas. He is a native Arkansan and has great contacts statewide. He graduated from the University of Arkansas. Mark Kinion is a candidate for Arkansas House of Representatives District 86.

Mark has political, governing and leadership experience. He currently represents Ward 2 on the Fayetteville City Council and as vice mayor. He co-sponsored the Fayetteville Civil Rights Ordinance and the Town and Gown Committee. Mark has supported resolutions and ordinances that make Fayetteville the very special community that we live in.

Mark supports equal rights, public education, environment, women's access to reproductive health care and health care for ALL Arkansans. He is an advocate for keeping the Buffalo River a pristine and economically productive destination for tourism in our state. Mark favors common-sense solutions that will allow our immigrant neighbors to participate fully in the community without fear of deportation. Mark feels that only trained law enforcement professionals should carry guns on campuses and in schools.

Mark has been engaged in community organizations and boards including Planned Parenthood Advisory Board, Fayetteville Housing Authority, Sierra Club, NWA AIDS Crisis Center and NWA Equality. And he is an Eagle Scout. He has focused his time, energy and expertise on making a difference in all of Northwest Arkansas.

Mark is prepared to be the next representative for Arkansas House District 86. His corporate executive and banking background have provided the analytical expertise needed to read and comprehend complex legislative documents and text. Mark will scrutinize the proposed bills prior to voting for or against any legislation.

People who know me as an advocate and activist for women's rights have asked why I support Mark Kinion rather than his opponent, who is a woman. I, too, feel that we need more women representation at all levels of government. But Mark Kinion has demonstrated his commitment to making District 86 and the state of Arkansas his first priority. I feel strongly about selecting a candidate who is experienced, prepared and dedicated to representing all constituents.

There is no Republican opponent in this race. The Democrat who wins this election will be the person who is seated in the chair at the State Capitol in Little Rock. Your vote for Mark Kinion in the primary on May 22 will ensure that he is that person.
