PINE BLUFF -- Authorities have arrested a man suspected in the deaths of two people who were found shot along a rural Arkansas highway.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office says police arrested 27-year-old Joshua Lasley on Wednesday night at a home in Pine Bluff. Authorities say Lasley is suspected in the shooting deaths of Rodney Scaife and Trevarland Smith, who were both from Little Rock.

Deputies found both men suffering from gunshot wounds on June 23 along Arkansas 15 in Tucker. Scaife was pronounced dead at the scene and Smith died en route to the hospital.

Lasley is being held without bond on suspicion of two counts of first-degree murder. Jail records don't indicate an attorney who could speak on his behalf.
