Texas man reports threat, theft in LR

A Texas man told police a stranger threatened to "throw him in the river" during a robbery in Little Rock's River Market District over the weekend.

The 57-year-old from Fort Worth said that the male robbers punched him in the head and stole a $700 laptop and two backpacks containing clothes just before 4 a.m. Saturday near 400 President Clinton Ave.

One assailant put on a shirt belonging to the victim that said "Show me your taco" before the two fled across the Junction Bridge to North Little Rock, according to a police report.

The report described one robber as a black male with braided hair who stands 6 feet 2 inches tall and was wearing a blue and white T-shirt. The other was said to be a blond-haired black male wearing a red hat.

No suspects had been named, and no arrests had been made at the time of the report.

Authorities said the Texas resident was taken to UAMS Medical Center, where he was treated for a cut to his left ear.

LR man shot in legs on nighttime walk

A 23-year-old man was shot while walking on a Little Rock road Friday night, authorities said.

Officers responded to the 5800 block of Butler Road shortly before 8:30 p.m. after a caller reported hearing four to six shots. There, police found Robert Edwards of Little Rock, who said he had been shot while walking south on the street.

According to a report, Edwards said the shooter was in a gray SUV and fired five to six rounds but that he didn't see anything because the vehicle came from behind him.

The 23-year-old reportedly had two gunshot wounds in his legs and was taken to UAMS Medical Center for treatment.

An officer noted that six shell casings were found at the intersection of Butler Road and Applegate Court.

No suspects were named and no arrests had been made at the time of the report.

Armed robber takes $670 in parking lot

A man was robbed at gunpoint Friday afternoon of more than $650 while sitting outside a state revenue office in Little Rock, police said.

Officers were called around 4:40 p.m. to Ashley Square shopping center, 9100 N. Rodney Parham Road, according to a report from the city's Police Department.

The 47-year-old victim said he had just left the revenue office and was sitting in his vehicle when someone approached a window and asked how he was doing.

A short time later, another stranger with a dark gray-and-black pistol approached and demanded that he hand over his wallet, the report states.

Police noted that the stolen wallet contained $670.

One robber was described as a black male with dreadlocks who stands about 6 feet 2 inches tall. He was reportedly wearing a white T-shirt and khaki pants at the time. Authorities said the second assailant, also a black male, stands around 5 feet 3 inches tall.

No suspects were named, and no arrests had been made at the time of the report.
