A man was pronounced dead five days after he sustained injuries in a rollover crash in Northwest Arkansas, authorities said.

The single-vehicle wreck happened shortly after 4:30 p.m. June 25 near the intersection of Arkansas 340 and Buckstone Drive in Bella Vista, according to a preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police.

Police say a westbound Ford F-150 driven by 64-year-old Jeffrey Hilbun of Bella Vista traveled off the highway. The pickup then rolled “multiple times” before coming to a rest, according to authorities.

According to the report, Hilbun was taken to Mercy Bella Vista and later Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Mo. Hilbun was pronounced dead at the Missouri hospital at 9:38 a.m. Saturday, according to Lt. Byron Stival of the Bella Vista Police Department.

The weather was described as clear and roads were said to be dry at the time of the wreck.

At least 233 deaths have been recorded in crashes on Arkansas roads so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
