Cave Springs Mayor Travis Lee will seek a second term as mayor.

Lee, 41, said today he's running for re-election.

"I am here as mayor to learn from our past, carrying forth our DNA that is strong and family friendly, but also deal with our present challenges and lead toward our future together," Lee said.

Two of Lee's goals for his next term are to continue revitalizing the downtown to bring in more businesses and to give options to residents for dining and shopping.

Lee said he also plans to lower the city's water rates.

He said Cave Springs, which is minutes from Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport, is the first and last visual impression people have of the region.

"The stronger we become, the more our businesses and families will prosper in the future financially," he said.

John Craig and Randall Noblett are Lee's opponents.

The term for Cave Springs' mayor is four years, and the annual salary is $60,000.

The nonpartisan election will be Nov. 6.
