Anthony Chapel at Garvan Woodland Gardens in Hot Springs, was the setting at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, April 14, for the marriage of Emily Katherine Shields and Adrian Williamson IV. Officiating was the Rev. Stephen Carey Hancock of Second Presbyterian Church, Little Rock.

The bride is the daughter of Linda Kay and Robert Joel Shields of Benton. She is the granddaughter of Paul and the late Helen Jo Shields of Black Springs and the late Nancy Katherine and Roger Hanson Moore Jr. of Mt. Sterling, Ky.

Parents of the groom are Katherine and Dr. Adrian Williamson III of Little Rock. He is the grandson of Sue and the late Adrian Williamson Jr. of Little Rock and Mary and John Kouloubis of New Orleans.

On each side of the altar were large elevated arrangements of blush and ivory roses, peonies, lilies and hydrangeas. Music was by pianist Elsen Portugal.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore an ivory silk-charmeuse gown with an overlay of Alencon lace. The fitted bodice had a Queen Anne neckline and sheer lace three-quarter-length sleeves. She carried a cascade of blush roses, tulips, ivory hydrangeas, lilies and peonies.

Maid of honor was Mary Scrimshire of Malvern. Bridesmaids were Bailey Barnes of Fayetteville, Stephanie Cone of Little Rock, Marla Larey of Texarkana, Texas, and Shicong Xu of Rogers. They wore blush A-line, floor-length silk-chiffon gowns and carried rounded bouquets of blush and ivory roses, lilies and peonies.

Flower girl and ring bearer were Elizabeth Lee Williamson of Niceville, Fla., cousin of the groom, and Garrison Singleton of Mena, cousin of the bride.

Best man was Jonathan Williamson of Little Rock, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Jared Halbert, Jackson Lowery, Peter Lowery and Allen Wyatt, all of Little Rock. Guests were seated by Michael Doobin of Summit, N.J.; Blake Gardner and Quade Smith, both of Little Rock; Daniel Igel of Jacksonville, Fla.; and Parker Shields of Kansas City, Mo., brother of the bride.

A reception was held at The Pavilion, also at Garvan Gardens. Guest tables, covered with ivory linens and champagne runners, held low arrangements of blush and ivory roses, hydrangeas, tulips and lilies. Assisting was Chelsea Whelpley of Little Rock.

The bride graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. She is a medical student at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and will graduate in May with honors in research specializing in general surgery.

The bridegroom graduated from Washington and Lee University, Lexington, Va., with a bachelor's degree in biochemistry and Spanish. He is also a medical student at UAMS and will graduate in May with honors in research specializing in otolaryngology.

The couple will take a wedding trip to Italy and in June will begin their residencies at the University of West Virginia School of Medicine in Morgantown, W.Va.
