Jury finds former DHS worker guilty of sexual assault

BENTONVILLE -- A Bentonville man was found guilty today of sexually assaulting a four-year-old girl.

Jorge Alcon, 71, was found guilty of sexual assault and faces from five to 20 years in prison. Sentencing proceeding will resume Friday morning.

It took 11 hours before the jury, which is made up of four men and 8 women, to reach a verdict.

The jury returned after 4 p.m. Thursday to Circuit Judge Brad Karren's courtroom.

Alcon worked for the state Department of Human Services as a program assistant and provided transportation and supervision for visitations. The girl was in foster care.
