Road wrecks fatal to two Arkansans

An 85-year-old man died Wednesday afternoon when his vehicle collided with a truck in Fayetteville, authorities said.

It happened shortly after 3:45 p.m. as Donald Hoodenpyle of Fayetteville was driving a four-door sedan on Huntsville Road near Jarnagan Lane. His vehicle was struck by a Dodge truck.

Hoodenpyle suffered fatal injuries, and the occupants of the Dodge were taken to a hospital, a Fayetteville Fire Department official said.

The identities of the injured and their conditions were not released.

Also this week, the Arkansas State Police identified a woman who was killed in a single-vehicle wreck last month in rural Pulaski County.

The wreck occurred about 6 a.m. March 11 as Faith Greenway, 28, of Batesville was riding in a 2005 Chevrolet traveling south on Woodson Lateral Road in the southern part of the county, according to state police.

The vehicle's driver, 31-year-old Shawn Greenway, lost control of the Chevrolet on a curve, causing it to leave the road and hit a tree, state police said.

Faith Greenway was pronounced dead at the scene, the report said, and Shawn Greenway, also a Batesville resident, was listed as injured in the crash. The extent of his injuries was not noted in the report.

The weather was clear and roads were dry at the time of the crash, state police said.

State police reported Greenway's death Thursday. The Pulaski County sheriff's office said a procedural issue delayed the report.
