"'Making God Laugh' is a delightful, at times poignant, dramedy," reads a Chicago theater review by J. Scott Hill. "This is a story of life's changes of direction, the role reversals of parents and children, the primacy of the reality of now versus the memories of the past and the predictions of the future, and the importance of a family breaking bread together."

"The message of the story is that we all start our journeys into adulthood with dreams, plans and expectations about the roads we will take," says director Lora Rice. "Then life happens. We are moved off course by unexpected bumps in the road, some good and some bad, and wear are taken down paths that we could never have imagined."

Rice has been involved with the FSLT since 2000. Other FSLT veterans involved in the production include Jill Ledbetter, Michael Richardson, Cody Bannin, Summer Robinson and John Hall.

"It's a wholesome play, uproariously funny at times, yet touching and poignant at others," says Rice.
