When the renovated Prairie Grove Community Center, what used to be the Magnolia Gas Station, opens it will feature another addition to Prairie Grove -- a coffee shop.
The Magnolia Coffee House came to be when husband-wife duo Richard and Deidre Mays responded to the renovator's call for the addition to the community, seeing themselves as entrepreneurs looking for their own investment opportunity in a part of Northwest Arkansas they now call home.
"It's such a good community with lots of history," Deidre said.
The renovated building is being restored to look like the 1930s gas station, Deidre said. It will have a food pantry, coffee shop and lounge area.
"As soon as we walked in we knew this was the spot [for the shop]," Deidre said.
Magnolia Coffee House will have it's soft opening on Nov. 10. It will be open Monday to Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will be closed on Sundays. Operating hours are subject to change.
Magnolia Coffee House is located at 151 E Buchanan St.
Richard and Deidre are from Compton and moved to Fayetteville before settling in Prairie Grove.
